Share Team Meeting Notes
February 28, 2010
The Share Team met in the library at 4:45 p.m. and was opened in prayer. Those in attendance were Mandy Lord, Allen May, Jonathan Melchior, Shirley Morris, John Smith and Becky May as Administrator. Susan Glymph was out of town however responded via email with her thoughts on the items being discussed.
The Share Team received a request from Emily Hardaway to purchase a software package to assist her in learning basics of the Portuguese language prior to her summer internship in Brazil. Approximate cost for the software is $300. While there are no provisions in the Share Team guidelines for this, the team voted to look into purchasing the software for Emily to use, then have it placed in the library for future use by others. The request was made for Becky to investigate the software as far as licensing issues. A response will be given to the team members once this has been done.
A request was submitted to the Share Team by Alaina Morris for financial & prayer support for her 2 mission trips to Guatemala City, Guatemala. The dates for the trips are April 4th-10th and May 29th-June 6th. The total trip cost covering both trips is $2,500. The team voted to support the combined trips in the amount of $250.
The next item for discussion was to have guidelines established regarding funding supplies for future mission trips. The team members asked for more time to pray about this therefore this item was deferred for discussion at a later meeting.
The final item to be discussed was making the team aware of possible requests for financial assistance from seminary students. We have several students from our congregation who have been called to the ministry and are, or will be, attending seminary. The Share Team members all agreed that this is not a part of our ministry area, “missions,” and have asked that this be forwarded to the Encourage Team for consideration.
The remaining time was given to Allen for sharing about the recent mission trip to Honduras. Allen also advised the team that there would be more trips to Honduras this year and possibly one to Haiti as well.
With all business being concluded, the meeting was closed in prayer.

Share Team Meeting Notes
April 11, 2010
The Share Team met on Sunday morning, April 11th at 8:30 a.m. in the library. Those in attendance were Susan Glymph, Allen May, John Smith and Becky May as Administrator. There were several important things to be discussed as outlined below.
- In the absence of Emily Hardaway, Becky gave an update on the financial status of her internship with CCI in Brazil. The budget prepared by Claudia Gandy of CCI for her 6 week stay totaled $4,242.00 of which $3,967.37 has been collected through contributions made by individuals. This does not include the initial commitment made by the Share Team for $875.00. Donations are continuing to be received and it is evident that the Share Team’s contribution will not be required. Any funds received over the $4,242.00 will be deposited into a designated account for Emily.
- Lane & Hutch Hutchins submitted a request for financial assistance to help with their mission trip to Ethiopia scheduled for June 12th-26th. Their total trip cost is $6,000.00 ($3,000/each). The team voted to assist with 25% which is a total expenditure of $1,500.00.
- A financial report was given by Becky for the accounts managed by the Share Team. Details are:
1-5002 CSRA Missions - $4,200 has been expensed of the budgeted $24,700
1-5003 Undesignated Missions – no expenses made to date of the budgeted $5,000
1-5006 Short Term Mission Trips - $724.63 has been expensed of the budgeted $12,000
1-5008 Supported Missionaries - $8,750 has been expensed of the budgeted $22,500
The budgeted contributions are being expensed differently this year at the request of Jeff Meeks,
our Church Administrator. Rather than making all the mission contributions in two distributions,
he requested that we divide them into eight. Payments are being scheduled in February-May and
August-November. If you have any questions please contact Becky for more information.
- Steve requested that the Share Team consider making a one-time contribution to the Thomson Gideon’s ministry. The team approved a donation in the amount of $240. This will be taken from account 1-5003 Undesignated Missions.
- The development of an “Evangelism Team” is being discussed. This new team is in the planning stage right now and Share Team members were asked to pray about who they felt would be good members for that group.
- Byron McReynolds recently brought some information by the church regarding a need that Augusta CMDA (Dr. Andy Sanders’ missions’ ministry) has for reading glasses. On their mission trips reading glasses are given out and need to be replaced. Individuals and organizations can make monetary donations for purchasing more glasses or can collect them.
It was suggested that this would be an excellent project for our Senior Adult Ministry, WMU, Women’s Ministry and Men’s Ministry to adopt. The information will be passed along to these ministries.
- A request was received from Campus Crusade for Christ for help in purchasing “Rapid Deployment Kits” for our military troops. The Share Team has made contributions in the past for this ministry and voted to fund 80 kits for a total of $260. This expenditure is to be made from account 1-5003 Undesignated Missions.
A recommendation was made to schedule a meeting at Becky & Allen’s house to have Max Guzman and his family come and share how the new Hispanic ministry is going. The team would also like for Katy Glymph and the Campus Outreach leaders from ASU to come and share about what is going on in that ministry as well. A date for these meetings will be forthcoming.
With no other business to be discussed the meeting was closed with prayer.

Share Team Meeting Notes
June 23, 2010
The Share Team met on June 23rd at 7:50 p.m. in the library. Those in attendance were Susan Glymph, Mandy Lord, Allen May, Jonathan Melchior, Shirley Morris, I.B. Parnell, John Smith and Becky May as administrator.
The first item of business discussed was the formation of an “Evangelism Team”. The development of this team is in the early planning stages and the group was asked to think about what the purpose, direction, team members, etc. should look like. Some points of discussion were:
~ The key to evangelism and bringing people to the Lord is through building relationships.
People need to see Christ in us and want to have that joy and peace we experience through our
personal relationship with Him.
~We need to show that our life is about knowing Him and making Him known to others.
~We need to have a plan on how we can weave the gospel in our conversation with those we
come in contact with (possible witness training sessions).
Vision for this new team:
~Front and center in all we do and say our focus needs to be on sharing the gospel.
~Challenge the body to do the same.
~Train others in how to share their faith and reach out to the lost.
Mrs. Shirley reminisced about the time, years ago, when children - adults would come to “Training Union” on Sunday nights. These classes were structured to teach and equip people in what the Bible says and how to share their faith with others. We have moved away from this in our current day churches and may need to get back to the basics again.
As various members shared their insecurity and reluctance is sharing the gospel with people they don’t know, Mrs. Shirley reminded us that “everyone who is a Christian has a testimony and we can all share what Jesus has done for us.”
Everyone agreed that there is a tremendous need at Kiokee for outreach and evangelism and the formation of a new team can help in this area. Another great point made was something Stanley Anderson had said …. “faith is caught way more than taught.”
For our next meeting (within a few weeks) the team was asked to seek God’s direction in:
~A purpose for the Evangelism Team
~Names for possible team members
~Should this new team be under the direction of the Share Team or separate
~Current Share Team members who may want to be on the Evangelism Team
~How can we help equip
~How can we help cast vision
A motion was made, seconded and approved that we proceed with the formation of an Evangelism Team.
The final item for discussion was a request submitted by Jason Butler of CCI Brazil for financial assistance personally as well as for the ministry at CCI. Being missionaries and running a mission’s organization, the Butler’s and CCI have been impacted tremendously with the economic downturn. Kiokee has a longstanding relationship with Jason and CCI through 2 student ministry mission trips to Brazil and now through Emily Hardaway’s summer ministry internship. After reviewing the year-to-date budget figures the team voted unanimously to request a $1,000.00 contribution be sent to Jason Butler’s family as well as a $1,000.00 contribution be sent to CCI – Brazil. The team members voted to consider an additional contribution for each during the 4th quarter of this year provided funds are available.
With no further business to discuss at this time, the meeting was closed with prayer.
