Serving in Preschool

In order to ensure that our preschoolers at Kiokee are safe and that their time here is well-spent and profitable for their spiritual growth, we strive to staff each classroom with an appropriate number of preschool volunteers. Our Preschool volunteers and leaders consists of parents, grandparents, and individuals who feel called to serve in our Preschool Ministry.

Once parents of preschoolers have been attending Kiokee for a period of 6 months, they are asked to serve on the Quarterly Preschool Schedule (up to once a month) during the 2nd Worship Hour. Others who desire to serve in Preschool must also have been attending Kiokee for at least 6 months. Leaders must be at least 18 years old to serve in the Birth-24 month classes, and teachers must submit to a state background check. Prior to the first time serving, the Preschool Coordinator will mail leaders important information regarding serving in our Preschool Ministry and call to see if they have any questions.

There are several ways individuals, not just parents, can serve in our Preschool Ministry if they have been attending Kiokee six months or longer:

  • Sunday School Teachers provide lessons on Sunday mornings from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
  • Worship Hour Teachers provide lessons on Sunday morning from 10:30 AM – 12 PM.
  • Cornerstone Worship Leaders – Adults and youth provide a praise and worship time for children in the 18 months to 3 years old classes from 10:30 AM – 10:50 AM on Sunday mornings. This includes music, drama, Bible story, and puppets.
  • Childcare Volunteers provide childcare for children birth – 18 months old during Discipleship classes on Wednesday night from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM.
  • Youth (12 years old or older) who have been attending Kiokee for at least 6 months may assist in the 2 and 3 year old Preschool classes during the 1st or 2nd Worship Service.

Current Opportunities

We currently have opportunities for service in the following areas:

  • Wednesday Night Substitutes – As needed on Wednesday nights from 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
  • 2nd Worship Hour Substitutes – As needed on Sunday mornings from 10:30 AM – 12 PM
